V8 Supercharger pulley upgrade and remap

Paramount performance are currently offering a reduced price supercharger pulley and remap, taking the bhp from 550 to 615/625 bhp. My question is, has anyone had this done and did you notice much of an increase in power and acceleration in a real world environment? It is already a very fast car so I'm not sure that I would feel of a difference.

In my personal opinion it would be a waste of money, as where would you use the extra power? Roads aren’t being maintained, they’re getting busier and driving standards appear to be dropping, so opportunities to drive briskly are getting fewer. If you lived by a racetrack or spent time driving up and down the Autobahn then it would make sense. You’d be better off spending the money on an advanced driving course (unless you’ve already done one) or some track days to exploit the existing performance

I posted about this in May on a thread called Paramount / Viezu - for what it costs, I thought it was worth doing just for the increase in torque as the car does feel noticeably quicker!

That is a good shout, I'm going to book a driving skills course so I can exploit the power first!

I'd get it done but it's tripling my insurance :-(

I feel your pain, just adding an air filter and exhaust Im going from £600 to £2,500 - one company has even quoted £9,552

Top pulley done, bottom pulley done, bigger intercooler, full valved big bore exhaust and a viezu remap to suit. 670hp. Well worth it I suggest and I've managed a Vbox 0to60 of just over 3secs. Won't go faster as the gbox is old school. Shame as my old M5 nudged 2.5! 😳

Have you consider the VAP gearbox remap?

I'm advised the newer boxes can't be mapped and TBH the whole box is just slow compared to something like my old M5 awd. I have it still as its more fun than allot of the new stuff and I can't afford a new SL63! 😂🤣

What do you mean about the gearbox?

It's old tech compared to say a new M5 which I had so no where near as fast changing gear. Side by side a new car will not drop acceleration as much as the ftype does but the cars not just about performance so I don't mind.

Not sure what you mean. In normal mode the changes are gentle but in sport mode using the paddles mine slams the changes pretty fast? Presumably that's normal for our boxes.

I sold an M3 (G80) to get my F Type and I thought the gear changes were pretty similar to the BMWs. Perhaps a tiny bit slower than the Beemer, but that might just be me making it up? Unfortunately it does have the slam in the back change just like the M3 when you are in the more 'sporting' gearbox setting :( Makes me wince and think of longevity of parts. Having said that, many manufacturers do this, so I guess the ZF gearbox is well up to the job.

Also, similar to the M3 (AWD model) the thump in the back gearchange, can set the traction control off, if the road isn't perfectly smooth.

Yes they can. Raised torque limits in lower gears, faster changers etc.
