Can you help with background history on this one @simpleR ?

A friend of mine is going to see it tomorrow.

Many thanks

Car 55543 - 22nd Jan 2018.
An "O" plate but not a Paragon Fleet Solutions car but a C Walton at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground lease car. Does not have a country of registration listed on Jaguar system which is common for cars which start life here. https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3300&p=35671&hilit=
Previous car that came via here was used in Portugal on race track and then shipped back but that was COPART. I can find no history on this car but DVLA reports a possible change of plate twice, so probably to a private plate and back which can make searching tricky. Clear on PNC with current reg.

Based on dates, it looks like it was ran for a bit and then put into storage at Bruntingthorpe. When it came out to head to Perth, the battery was flat and was recharged. Original battery serial number 0811190067 was swapped for a new one, serial number 0718240001 later on in the year.

FJSH up to 22nd Jan 2021.
The car has not been on the road since 3rd December 2021 when it was last seen following an MOT failure. It was never re-MOT'ed and has been untaxed since then and was never serviced either. It failed for a windscreen wiper so £20 and sorted and away you go, so perhaps there is a reason they never completed the service and MOT? Speculation, but seems very odd and I wonder if something else was found wrong, so they never continued. It still does not have an MOT today but check rear brakes and tyres have been replaced.

Three other people have already paid for a car-check on this vehicle in last 30 days. I would recommend you do a full independent paid for check and proceed after checking everything carefully.

Good luck.

The only advantage of Jaguar Used Approved is that you get 1yr Jaguar warranty (and 2yrs if you ask nicely) included in the deal including breakdown, £750 MOT cover, etc and things like you should get a minimum of 5mm tread on tyres etc as part of the 130 odd point check but you'll rarely see a printed copy of that!

None of the checks include history of the vehicle if that's important to you. Some people on here have found their car was ex rental, used on track, for professional events like Fen End driving experience, magazine cars, vMax demonstrators, even crashed at Jaguar events and repaired (badly in one case) and all "Used Approved".

EDIT: I never recommend buying or not buying a car. That's down to the buyer based on what's important to them.

The background info. that simpleR advises on is legendary and so very useful.
Thank you for your clean bill of health check on my car too - very much appreciated!
