Recently got my V6s - convertible . Lovely car and best noises ever from that exhaust. Stepped out of a V8 Vantage Aston and think its a much better car than the Aston. Looking forward to learning all about these cars on the Forum. Hello to all and happy, safe motoring!

Hi F1DPS,<div>I saved my money for years to buy an Aston Vantage and then when finally I could afford it, I drove one, what a let down, one of the most beautiful cars, but not a nice drive, the auto gear box was just awful.</div><div><br></div><div>Then came alone the F type in the cover of the CX16 prototype, wow, put my name down and got my V6S last summer fab-u-lous !!!!</div><div><br></div><div>Jame</div>

Hi Don,<div><br></div><div>Welcome to the growing forum! Hope you find the information here useful, we're a friendly bunch too!</div><div><br></div><div>I, like many others did the rounds; Porsche 911C4S, CLS63AMG, AMV8 Vantage. The F-Type for me was far more engaging and more of a true 'sports car' than any of the others.</div><div><br></div><div>The Porsche nailed it for pin-point accuracy on the tarmac, the CLS63 was a characterless Autobahn GT- by far the most luxurious and comfortable interior. The AM was areal let down; it sounded beautiful, but the interior looked like it had been made by a kid.</div><div>Have to admit though it was a 2009 model. I remember the satnav looking like a Halford aftermarket jobbie stuck to the retracting dash with some double-sided sticky!</div><div>As Jamie mentioned, the gearbox change was dreadful. It would have been more comfortable to have had vertebrae removed without anaesthetic than to change gear! The AM though had the looks to die for IMO.</div><div><br></div><div>Enjoy your Jaguar V6S. There's lots of mods coming onto the market now to up power and do all sorts of things if you are into that, and of course this forum is a wealth of knowledge ;-)</div><div><br></div><div>Post us a piccie!</div>

Hi all - also a very newbie, Singh here. I see that there is a host of very useful information on this forum - it's helped me a lot in placing my order for V6S. What alloys did you go for F1DPS? I can't believe how difficult it has been for me to choose the right alloys to go with my white Coupe (unfortunately, not due until March)<div> </div><div>All the best</div><div>Singh</div>

Welcome onboard Harry!<div> </div><div>Glad that you are finding lots of information on here. I belong to all the Jaguar communities and on FB/ Twitter and others like PistonHeads etc, but find this F-Type specific forum the best...enjoy.</div>

Hi Singh<br />Welcome from a fellow pimp-mobile driver. I has a similarly long & agonising decision process to go through regarding the wheels. I actually ordered silver cyclones which I'd intended painting black (much cheaper than paying for the black option on the configurator) & when the car arrived with the silver wheels, although I was really chuffed with it, I still felt that black would contrast much better against the stark white. I'm really pleased I changed them to black & my opinion seems to be shared by everyone who sees it. Rather than spraying however, I actually found a new set of black XKRS wheels & tyres in black, which I felt suited the overall appearance better so fitted those instead. People agree the combination looks so much better too. Also I now have a complete set of new wheels & tyres for use in the future, with the extra wheels having only effectively costed £200 for the set! Will try to post pictures later so you can see what I mean. Otherwise, fab choice, fab car. Look forward to it & look forward to cleaning it more often too! (White's a sod to keep clean, but black wheels are dead easy!)

Thanks DRAT, that's really useful to know - are there any places you or anyone could recommend for getting Jaguar approved alloys? Singh

Hi Singh,<br /><br />Jag land UK have a shop on fleabay and they seem to have plenty of sets of wheels and tyres for F-Types. Prices seem good and, in many cases, the sets are almost brand new. If you do a search and find their shop you will see sets of Gyrodynes for £1895 with brand new PZeros on. Not bought from them myself but others on this forum have and speak well of them.<br /><br />I'm sure there will be others but hope this helps.<br /><br />Regards.<br /><br />Scoobydoo<br /><br />
