Hi all,
I took in my FTYPE to InchCape JLR last week to investigate a raspy sound from my exhaust and a recurring issue from last year of a drivers side metal scraping sound when turning left.
The exhaust back box was replaced in 2019 by the same JLR.
The metal scraping noise was resolved in 2021 by a technician securing a loose plate.
This time around, despite informing them of the fix for the exact same issue, they charged me £125 for the privilege of ignorance and being unable to determine the issue but suggested I have both front and nearside brake discs and pads replaced for zero reason at all but a 'hunch'.

As seen above - this should be the fix - but they are trying to get me to unnecessarily pay for parts I do not need replacing.
The exhaust 'raspy' sound wasn't diagnosed properly either and on the technician video also costing me a further £125 for investigation, it was claimed that the box joints were the culprit of the noise - to be honest, they were black as expected, but you could see some cracks/flaking on the joint with missing bits.

However, they currently insist I have the back box completely replaced again, with me having to pay upwards of £2.3k for fitting and the part (JT2R47475). I find this extremely disgusting, considering the car hasn't done more than 1k miles since 2019 - so why should I have to accept such a cost. However, I don't believe this should be the part replacing? - Could anyone, by looking at the picture, determine if there's a more cost effective way of repairing this - considering this also might not even resolve the issue.
Inchcape JLR are currently unresponsive after one manager ignored the attachment of proof of the metal plate being fixed by them with technician notes on the issue, and secondly informing me of the out of warranty on the exhaust and that it is at my own cost.
I'm tired of these places trying to rip customers off.
