USB not working on P450 20 plate facelift

Hi All

I have been using a dongle to connect my iPhone to apple car play so I don't have to plug and unplug my phone in, there is a lag and calls weren't great so went back to good old USB wire connecting.
This worked well last night and this morning, decided not to connect with an error message telling me to unplug and reconnect.

could be the wire but have since found another wire which is also not working. the dongle also now won't reconnect to car, So I am guessing it is both USB that are the issue.

Strange all of a sudden, could it be a fuse or do i need to replace the USB? anyone had this or replaced themselves?

I lost my USB power and the USB on the radio today and unsure why. I still had power at the power socket. I checked the fuses and all ok. So I locked the car for about 20mins and re-unlocked it and all now working okay.
 
I think there is recurring problem with the USB interface units. I plug my phone in to use Android Auto (mainly for navigation and music playing).
It sometimes disconnects, either for a few seconds or comes back only when I wiggle the USB plug. It's not the actual USB socket, as both of them behave the same.
It will be fine for a few weeks and then fail frequently. Often it disconnects when going over a bump.

I conclude that this interface box has a dodgy connection, either inside it, or on the connectors on the back where cables plug in. Seems to quite a common problem.

There are units for sale on ebay and Britcar but not identical to my MY21 unit. I intend to remove it and give it a good fiddling with, maybe clean the contacts.
