TSB K410 - Canister Hose

Just noticed this service action which appears to involve removing lots of the trim behind the drivers seat to replace a canister and hose which forms part of the emissions system. Apparently the hose can breakdown due to ozone allowing emissions into the cabin.

This action has just appeared in North America (October) but I wonder if it applies to UK and European models. Has anyone had it done/flagged for action?

Scoob,

I read postings on the US forums: http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/latest-recall-do-i-have-have-done-172240/

I suspect, and it's only a hunch, that it is a US thing, because I know that most US bikes for example have to have carbon canisters on pretty much everything that vents to atmosphere to pass some of their smog and CA regs.

That said, if you can PM or post the TSB that would help....my TOPix registration has run out!

Cheers,

Tel

Hi Tel,

The link you provided is where I read about the issue too. Let's hope it doesn't apply to Uk/European models as I wouldn't want all the trim taking off to fix the issue!

I don't have a Topix sub but I think I will sign up and see if I can find any further information. I will post any further details.

Scoobydoo

It looks as though Tel's hunch was spot on. There is no mention of K410 on Topix for the RHD models so it certainly appears as though UK owners vehicles are not affected by the TSB.

Apologies if anyone reading was concerned by the post. I hope the fix is applied without causing any trim damage/rattles for owners in the US.

Scoobydoo
The Yanks can be a bit over the top when it comes to emission controls. I had a CJ7 Jeep of Californian origin many years ago. It was absolutely loaded with anti emission gear. When removed it ran much better!
I have not seen any European models that has been affected by this TSB yet, so lets hope it is so.
