Towing

With Goodwood approaching, and the real possibility of parking in muddy/boggy fields, I’m concerned that I may have to attach the front towing hook. Are there any problems associated with this? Is it easy to remove the coloured blank? And if the car has to be towed backwards for a short distance, is there anywhere I can attach a tow rope?

There hasn’t been any parking in the fields opposite the circuit for a few months, only the set-up vehicles, so you should be ok plus there won’t be so many vehicles in comparison to the Festival of Money and Revival. No rain has been scheduled for this week other than a brief spell on Monday which will give the fields a chance to drain more

Hi Kev, I hope you are right 🤞 . I was there last Tuesday for a MM practice day, and I walked over the road to check out the car parking fields, and they were waterlogged, so on advise from friends I got a ticket for Lavant Bank outfield, (just £36) which I hope will be better. But I thought I’d seek some advise on the towing hook, just in case. Bob.

I removed the black plastic towing hook cover carefully and easily ~ the moveable plastic clip is on the right hand side, as you look at it, I insurted a very small (jewellers) screwdriver to push the plastic clip open. Then temporally covered the hole with a small piece of black plastic tape. Hope I don’t have to be towed, but now all ready for the worst, and very easy to refit the plastic cover once Goodwood is over.
Ps why do owners say that if you break the clip, and have to buy a new cover, it has to be painted to match the colour of the car ~ my centre grille bar is painted black, not colour coded?
