Hi all<div>the topic im sure has been covered , but would be interested to hear opinions of owners that have switched from the Pirelli to the <font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Michelin Pilot Super Sport , especially how the Michelin have been after they have a few miles on</font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Ive never found the Pirelli to be great , on either of the 2 Ftypes iv'e owned , seem ok for the 1st 1000 miles and then go down hill rapidly , but they never seem that confidence inspiring. </font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">My only concern is that the Michelin seem to advertise as a summer only tyre , </font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Im assuming owners are using them in the wet OK ?</font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Running on 20" V6-S</font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Their also seems to be a choice of BMW or Merc for the manufacture rating , the Merc being £10 more ,<br>again... be interested to know which of the manufacture marking ones are best</font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Thanks in advance , </font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif">Steve</font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font face="Source Sans Pro, sans-serif"><br></font></font></div>

I am currently running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S the replacements to the MPSS (on a V6S) and can confirm that they are very good in the wet and outstanding in the dry. Compared to the Pirelli you can feel what the car is doing beneath you and drive with more confidence.

<div><br></div><div>Ive not seen the 4S as an option on the Tyre sites , they just say <span style="color: rgb51, 51, 51; font-family: "Source Sans Pro", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold;">Michelin Pilot Super Sport</span><span style="color: rgb51, 51, 51; font-family: "Source Sans Pro", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold;"> </span></div>

<p>I got them through Costo but I know that Merit Tyres and Kwik fit can get hold of them if you call the branches direct. They are still new hence the online companies are yet to update their websites.</p><div>Costo are offering the best deal at the moment due to their links with Michelin.</div>

<div><br></div><div>Yes , just done a bit of research and it appears the 4s is the replacement for the original Pilot Super Sport</div><div><br></div><div>Ive never had that "connected feeling" to the road with the Pirelli , steering feels way to light </div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

I agree with shakin lee on all points above - the Michelins are significantly better tyres than the P Zeros.<div>I have switched rears to the pilot sport 4S they were £289.18 per rear tyre 295/35/R20 at Costco.</div><div>The Costco guys were very impressed with the car (really nice too) and ultra careful with my wheels as their policy is if they scratch a wheel then they have to pay to refurb it.</div><div>They even managed to keep the rim protectors on using soap to get the tyre over it.</div><div>Oh also they were cheaper than online. They can order the tyres in for you if you ask at the desk.</div>

I moved to the pss late last year. They are confidence inspiring and no problem at all in the coldwet, though mine are a little noisy on that nasty pink motorway tarmac you get on m25. Jess

Sounds like they are the way to go then , not really fussed about road noise , id take handling over noise any day<div><br></div><div><br></div>

steveo if you have a costco card I have read that the 4S are a small step above the supersports - however what swung it for me was that the newer tyres were actually cheaper in costco than the supersports were!

Ive emailed a couple of my local Tyre places who advertise the original Supersports to see if they do the 4S , by the sounds of things the original Supersports are still a good option<div><br></div>
