I thought the v6 was a derivative of the v8 which is based on the ford unit. I'm new to this jag world though so that's probably a mistake
The current V6 is actually the V8 but with 3 pot heads and internals.
External dimensions are the same for both.
The V8 is an all-new engine from 2009 and the V6 was released in 2012.
The confusion can be that they are both built at the Ford plant at Bridgend in a separate plant within a plant by Jaguar staff.
Not being a geek but the number of times I've been told I have an "old Ford V6" has really annoyed me.
