'The Bowl' - Caffeine & Machine, Ampthill

Lovely rest stop at 'The Bowl' Ampthill this late afternoon. Good brew, relaxing atmosphere and welcoming staff
I expect the weekends will be busier, as it is at 'The Hill" near Stratford (upon Avon). Great food with a menu about to be extended, and a wide selection of beverages.

Hi Greystone,

Visited 'The Bowl' a few weeks back for a coffee as only had just opened. I then drove up to 'The Hill' for lunch. Didn't use the motorway or properly nail it but did door to door in an hour and half Lovely bit of road near Edgehill (going in either direction) it's closest thing to a mountain switchback I've found locally

The Hill is our 'local', we were going there before the days of C&M, and tend to go during the week when it's a lot-lot quieter than the weekends. Some great events, with last week's Bloodhound LSR night very interesting, although my chances of being the new driver are below zero

Yes, fortunately my working week means my days off are Monday and Tuesday and tend to find the place quiet or with 1 or 2 petrol heads with something tasty in the car park! I'm near Buckingham so kind of in the middle to both, allows for some spirited driving before the need to stop for a coffee
