Stop me .... new brakes

Did you replace those funny spider washers that hold the disk to the hub, am going to be doing mine soon, can’t work out if they are needed/recommended

Have a read through this https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/brake-disc-retaining-washers.112428 which includes the following and more....

"I usually don't care for such washers but those heavy discs tip off the hub rather easily and general reassembly is a lot easier if a couple of those washers are firmly in place."

The part number for the 'SPRING NUT - BRAKE DISC TO HUB' is C2C33384010 and is shown as item number 13 here... https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/152.1065.2369.11110/brand/jaguar/

^^ needed no but do make life a little easier.
I re-used the ones I took off to hold the disc in place whilst fitting the caliper hanger.

Just read the thread referenced, that little tip in getting them off is extremely useful .... took me ages unwinding the little buggers!

+1 but fitted new ones as so cheap in the order of things.

I think their original purpose is to keep discs in place as part of sub assemblies before final manufacture and safety/alignment if a wheel is removed. One can argue that once fitted discs quickly bind to the hub so not needed, but for me they are very useful whilst I fit the carrier, calipers and keep things tight whilst bleeding brakes and checking the disc is correctly seated.

For those who haven’t seen it, this is the tip for removing the 'SPRING NUTS - BRAKE DISC TO HUB'...

“Top tip, screw wheel nut up to the washer until a little resistance felt then unscrew wheel nut, the attached washer unscrews with the wheel nut, result.”
