Sticky Switches

Hi All,
I have been cleaning some of my interior switches with surgical spirit which largely removes the stickiness. It has removed the coating on the window switch surround but revealing black plastic underneath.
Has anyone been able to repaint the surround and if so what colour, or should I go the route of carbon fibre covers which are available on Ali Express at reasonable price?

I read in a post here somewhere that the stickiness can be solved using Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
There's a youtube video of a guy doing it (on a random car). Probably less harsh than surgical spirit.
I bought some from ebay to use on other things but haven't had need on the F-Type yet.

Here you go....It's not the answer the OP is looking for right now but it may help with cleaning any further car interior sticky switches/buttons

Can’t post the link for some reason, but if you look at Ali Express Jaguars F Type window switch cover it gives a few examples

Yeah that was me some years ago now.
Using it isn’t the quickest way but it does mean (unlike harsher solvents) you keep the white button markings, which can be handy!
Use with round make up remover pads and cotton buds.

Ah thanks RPSN - you did better than me at finding it quickly.

Any tips for the rest of my memory?!

It was one of the posts in the link I provided earlier in this thread.

I have a book on how to improve your memory but I’ve forgotten where I put it! :D
