'Sticky Controls' Solution

Hello all.

Having an older model F now, the sticky buttons were really becoming an issue for me, detracting from the driving experience. I have tried various solutions (Isoprol, lemon juice, goo-off) with varying degrees of success.

Similar problem on an XJ, and the solution worked as well if not easier than shown in the video. The wife did question why i was buying make-up remover but thats another story. Hope this helps.

That looks like a very good solution. Anyone tried it with different brands? Or know what the long term effect is?

My car doesn’t have sticky buttons, I’m just interested in the topic.

I did mine a few years ago using this.
Cotton buds to get in the corners and plenty of patience - it feels like you’re not getting anywhere and just making a sticky mess, but suddenly it works.
