Stealth Mode

So, where I live is a quiet subdued cul-de-sac down a 200 yd lane with 15ft brick walls either side.... I'm guessing you're starting to see the problem here!

Whilst the acoustics of the walled lane are rivalling of those in the sydney opera house... the noise from the F is near on ASBO territory down there.

Since I am a young-'er' driver my start up procedure is obviously:

1. Foot on brake
2. Start button
3. Active exhaust ON

So I like to think of it more as a Normal mode and Stealth mode, rather than Normal and Loud
Needless to say... I invoke stealth mode when arriving... leaving on the other hand is a whole other story!

Anyone else have any issues with the F being anti-socially loud?

NB: saying all this I've had about 4 neighbours come over when pulling in and comment on how beautiful the car is... maybe they won't mind a little noise after all.
The neighbours don't mind. They think that it puts up the value of their houses too

Best thing to do is talk to them.

-Ask them if they don't mind the noise.
-Say that you are trying to be as stealthy as you can be but the car is a bit of a beast that is difficult to tame. Show them how you use the switch in order to keep the noise to a minimum.
-Explain that it's the car that revs up initially and that's it's not just you being a d!ckhead and all should be fine

I'm willing to bet that 99.9% of people will appreciate the effort you are making to consider the shared environment.

As i'm typing this, all the sheep in the field next to me and the horses on the other side are smiling and nodding in agreement
I have a little smile to myself every time the F Type over the road starts up and I know they are the same when I do. I must admit, the neighbours are very tolerant and love seeing the cars. I had a quick word with them to explain the cars are noisy for the first 15 seconds or so and there's nothing we can do about it. They are fine about it.

That moment when you feel all special and then realise the guy down the street has an F-Type too

I saw another white coupe today in town with pan roof, and I was like... this is my town, get out.
So I guess you stand out at your local pub then? I mean in the pub car park. lol
