Hello all new here, I just Acquired a V8 S convertible (Pics to follow) and went for my first drive yesterday and have a question. Can you use the DAB radio in the car and have google maps voice directions come over the car speakers from android device ? TIA

If the Google maps is being done via android auto then yes you can have a separate music from the car's system whilst still having the good navigation notifications. At least on my car you can.

What model year do you have? (Helps if you put that in your signature)

Since it's a V8S it will obviously be a very early car.

There's no android audio on the head unit fitted to those cars but there's bluetooth audio streaming and bluetooth phone audio support. If I recall correctly you can set up Google maps (or maybe it was waze) to play its sounds via bluetooth like a phone call, so it might be possible to get the nav directions to play on your car if you find the right settings in Google maps.

Have a look at JH Audio Solutions. They offer an after market Wireless Android Auto/Apple Car Play unit .
I had one fitted a couple of years ago, can't fault it.
