Spotify to be withdrawn from InControl Apps

Just had a message today from Jaguar InControl Apps saying that Spotify is being withdrawn from 30th September 2019

Well that was really helpful JLR, when I’m not listening to the engine it’s the only thing I listen to and it was a breeze to scroll through on the screen, I know there are other ways, memory sticks and Bluetooth but the App was actually useful for once...

Unless they’re going to roll out Apple Car Play to us all, I don’t think it’s available for my model year...

Has anyone else heard this news please?

Must remember to turn off auto updates for in control apps.
Spotify is the only useful thing on that app, thanks for the heads up.

Now running IOS 13.1 and inControl apps not available on car screen.
Have reloaded the app but still unavailable. Not a loss but curious.

There have been issues across a few of the forums with the recent IOS update causing problems as they often do for a while.
More info which concerns bluetooth issues with it so it wouldn't surprise me if your issue is related to the update too.

This is starting to spread across the ownership pool of people that don't have new jaguars and can't upgrade to a version with android auto. The google app reviews have plummeted. (they were not the best to start with) All reflecting the same anger. Even spotify now has it's own thread on the community page.
A few have been offered free updates on software when they have complained but no answers have been provided.
Should we include jaguar relations on the forum to see if they can push forward as to how to get round this as being left in the lurch is a tad annoying. It's the only part of the infotainment system i really used!

That response, to a 2019 post, is 100% written by ChatGPT

Nah, ChatGPT would know better than to put an apostrophe in the possessive form of "its". It knows it's only necessary for contractions of "it is" (see what I did there?).
