Should I buy this P300?

It’s a 2018 P300 with about 25,000 miles, full Jaguar service history, seemingly good condition. The dealership are offering to MOT/Service it before I buy it and it comes with a 12 month warranty that is extendable to 36 months for £649.

The reg is: WK18 TCO

The car is £27,000.

Are there any big things I should consider before pulling the trigger on buying this?

Given you don’t provide the reg. then there’s little anyone can tell you about the car.
I’d check the service history and mot for starters.
Also check the warranty as it will likely be limited compared to JLR.

Sorry about that, I’ve just provided the reg. I have paid for a full lookup and everything seems to check out.

Service history all looks fine, spark plugs were replaced in 04/2022 aswell as oil/oil filter/pollen filter and engine air filter. Last service 80k miles/60months was an oil/oil filter change.

Slightly unusual for the spark plugs to be replaced before the recommended interval (60 months/80K miles) considering the low mileage unless the service manual for the 2L is different. Not a showstopper though and it will save you money. Price is decent but I think either a low mileage 2018 or 19 V6 or V6S would be more fun and hold the value better than the 2L.

That helps and if you've done a full lookup then you should have covered most of the bases.

The MOT history clearly shows a previous owner who doesn't care. 2 consecutive fails for no windscreen washer fluid, washer not working, cut wiper blade, cut tyre and worn tyre..
I would put the details into the https://osh.jaguar.com/ and check all the items completed for each service inline with the schedule and that all annual services completed. After PDI it should have 5 or 6 services by now. From what you say it looks OK.

I'd say is it's a decent entry level car at fair price and as 4 cylinder the least favoured, but that's personal choice

Service intervals are 05/2018, 05/2019, 05/2020, 05/2021/ 04/2022 and 06/2023.

Car 56832
4 previous owners from Cornwall and Kent areas.
Full service history. Yes a P300 needs plugs at 4 years (5 years for V6 and V8's).

The prices seems high, if you were selling it on Auto trader it would be about £23k.

Ok, I’ve been looking at auto trader and the price stuck out to me as low but it is a base model.

Thanks for those checks.

It should be you who’s glad you’re not going for it :)

If you find a car on one of the selling sites or supermarkets at a good price or often in a non specialist or JLR dealer, they are the usually less desirable examples. Not always, but more often than not.
High miler, base model, wrong interior/exterior combo, missing key accessories multiple owners, missed service, etc
The best float to JLR and specialists, worst sink to the tertiary sector.
For sure they all find a buyer in time, but the smart money goes elsewhere.
