Servicing question again. What is required in a 24 month service?

I know there are a lot of these questions on any car forum, but I've had a bit of a trawl and haven't found what I'm looking for.

My F Type R75 needs its 24-month service and I was told it needed brake fluid replacing. I was a bit surprised by this, but not as much as the cost of the service (my car is low mileage as most are), £800! I said I'd ring around and the quote was dropped to £647.

I'm surprised by the cost, but I'm a little unsure as to what is required for a correct service at 2 years old. Anyone know the correct spec of this?

Here you go, this is the second year service schedule. If you go into the Jaguar OSH portal put your vin no in then select service type and print view you can then see all the annual service requirements. Your limited mileage is academic as the service frequency is time or mileage whichever comes sooner.

In Dubai garages check the brake fluid with a moisture meter. Is that a legitimate way to decide?

It’s a quick and easy way to determine how much water it has absorbed at the point of testing. It’s ample to check the performance of the fluid isn’t compromised by water, but is no substitute for flushing the system of any contaminants, sludge, etc. and replacing with new, clean, correct spec.. fluid.
You’re service record also would not show a change as required every 2 years

That brilliant, really useful

Thanks 😊

One thing that was interesting, was when I asked for a slightly later date for servicing than the one they first offered, they said, that might be a good idea, as the ongoing problems with the cyber breach are potentially causing problems for servicing too. I'm guessing parts supplies and general logistics might still be affected

Yes, that’s correct they will be some time getting back to date with parts orders, though you would hope the dealer could handle a straightforward service re filters and oil from local stock 🙄
