Service recommendations South West please

Hi fellow F-Type enthusiasts,

My MY 2021 F-Type R 5.0 V8 P575 AWD will be due its first service in my ownership in the next couple of months (previously owned in the Stockport area and serviced at Sytner JLR Stockport, which is where I purchased it). Currently 24500 miles.

I intend to keep it long term, so therefore obviously want it really looked after properly.

Can anyone recommend a good and reliable independent Jaguar specialist (or experience of reliable Jaguar dealership) in the Bristol/Somerset/Devon area. My nearest Jaguar dealership is Sytner Jaguar Bristol (Cribbs Causeway). I live near Taunton, but the Taunton dealership is now LandRover only.

I took mine to Swallows earlier this year for its first service in my ownership. https://swallows-jag.co.uk
They are just up the M5 from you near Burnham-on-Sea, closer than Bristol.
Not particularly cheap, but I got good vibes that they know what they are doing, and their racing interest says good things too.
They updated my JLR online service record too so the history is there.
If you want MOT too then they take the car to somewhere else nearby for that.
Well worth a chat with them I'd say.

You may be right, I only assumed they wouldn’t. Not sure I’d trust them though if they have moved away from Jaguar?

The Taunton dealer serviced mine earlier this year so, yes, they do still service Jags (or did, as of March!)

Odd thing is, when I went to the main dealership company web-site and requested a service plan, it recommended their BMW dealer in Yeovil

If you want to keep a main dealer service record there's is always Jaguar Exeter just down the M5 as you know.

I did the rounds earlier this year to find a suitable garage for my new to me V6S for its 10 year service.

I haven't had the service done yet so can't comment on any particular garage but I did call into Swallows to sus them out. Came away not too impressed but I called into a garden centre for lunch which was just down the road from them. In the car park was a couple getting into a lovely old XJ6 so I wandered across and asked if they had used Swallows. His immediate reaction was "I WOULDN'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE". He was not a happy bunny! They had messed up some repairs on his car at some time. When you get such a reaction from someone it does make you think. I know every garage does have unhappy customers and happy customers. Personally I will not be using them.

There's an Aston Martin garage who also service Jags in Newton Abbot who I will be using later in the year.

I don't recommend them.

They were good when they were Grange, ok when they were Matford, verty unsatisfactory now they're Vertu. Some of the same staff have no doubt remained throughout, but culture and attitude have fallen off a cliff.
