Service plans

Just having a quick look into these. The priority service plan offered by my local dealership Vertu, works out at £27 per month for the next 3 years, covering 72, 84 and 96 month services.
Great value at about £300 per service, however it's not clear whether the quote is for the basic service or comprehensive service. Both include labour, parts Vat etc.
I've had a quick look at the service plan for the P300 and it doesn't look like the manufacturer plan doesn't includes anything more than the basic anyway, oil, oil filter etc.
Anybody had experience of these or anything to look out for?
Cheers
Rob

I took out a 3-year plan 2 years ago, though I paid for it outright rather than paying in installments. It has covered the FULL service for the past 2 years and will cover the next one too. To the best of my understanding, the current Vertu deal is the same, the car will be serviced according to the original Jaguar service schedule.

I was planning on taking out the same option next year, when the current plan expires as it represents a significant saving (I calculated it as being well over £400) compared to the standard price that Jaguar quote, given that one of the services involves the spark plug change.

One thing that did have me worried, and I only mention it because you asked "anything to look out for", was the back of the original form stating that the plan only covered the labour costs. I queried this and was assured that the FULL cost of the services were covered, and they have been.

I have the official Jaguar Service plan (3 years) and had my first service in February at Vertu - They did the complete service including parts as per the Jaguar spec and topped up other fluid's too. The only issue i had is Jaguar now use edynamics as their payment plan partner and requires access to a separate system for payment at the dealers. It caused a days worth of confusion and numerous calls between me, Jaguar and the dealer to resolve.

Like Cluck, I paid up front for the first 3 services. I think the next one only has to cost about £100 for me to be up on the deal. I'll look to sign up for an extension when the offer comes up.

Thanks guys, I've now clarified with Vertu that there is only one level of service, and that is as per manufacturer guidelines, which will cost a little over £800 for three services which doesn't seem too bad.

That was one of my concerns, like you I have been assured everything is covered. Happy days!

My year 4 service, using the service plan, included the rear diff oil change when I had it done last year.
The cost of the plan was significantly cheaper than the sum of the individual main dealer services at the time of purchase: and is even cheaper now taking inflation into account.

Spoke to them again today, it covers parts, labour and VAT to service the vehicle as per manufacturer specification.
They also discounted the cost to just under £800 for three services.
Quite happy with that.
