Screen wash fluid delivery very poor

Hi all hope someone here can help
I have been having screen wash issues, rear bottle has been leaking since I bought the car in early June. Car had to go in for a lambada sensor, and I ask them to sort this at the same time. They replaced the front bottle not the rear one that I told them was leaking. So today it went in again to have a new rear bottle fitted. Also said I wanted the jets checked as fluid delivery was poor. Arrived at 8am (55 mile drive to supplying dealer) told prior to arriving I could wait as would only take an hour or 2. So 5 hours later!!! car done bottle replaced they said that the driver side jet was blocked and they have cleaned it but it may not be surfactant ask me to check for myself on the way home and if not satisfied they would order a replacement. Not best pleased with tat as an answer but by now just wanted to get back home. Amount of fluid on the windscreen is very poor so at home tried it stationary on the drive.
When you press wash you can hear the pump run but it pulses as in runs for half a second stops for half a second dose this 5 times then stops completely until you release the button and then dose the same again. As a result you get a few blobs of fluid not a jet and does very little in the way of washing. On my previous XJ It had jets on the wiper arms the same as this it sprayed a powerful spread jet for as long as you kept the button pressed.
Is this normal on the FType?

My car was delivered with timed jet function enabled, although the dealers can change this to always on. For mine, when I activate the screen washers I get 5 wipes of the screen and then a short delay and a single drip wipe, the washers only work on the upstroke of the first two wipes. They are the best wipers I’ve had on any car and very effective.

I had the exact problem you’re describing, washer pump was on its way out but not entirely failed. Replaced, part was about £45 from memory and half an hours labour.

There’s a few that that could cause this nite MF they already cleared blocked Jets

Pump as mentioned above, filter that can get clogged easily. I recall vividly on Z4’s this was a big problem where different screen cleaner were used and created a jelly that blocked filters
Finally kinks in pipes given they just replaced the reservoir

Pain but I’d just go back and have it fixed

Thanks for that mickjaguar really helpful I should have searched a bit harder before posting. Love this forum so much knowledge & help.

PS lover your new SVR stunning colour.

I heard that someone put men on the moon around 50 years ago, so one day a main dealer might be able to sort out a windscreen washer problem. 🤣.

The dealer would have to employ ex-NASA people, which he could afford to at those labour rates!

I've also thought that the washers on the ftype are the worst I've come across, very ineffective, perhaps I need to do some checking of pipes...

I've always been impressed with the way Jaguar does washers - having the jets above the wiper arms and squirting on the upstroke seems genius to me. Maybe your jets are clogged up.

They just don’t seem to clear the top part of the windscreen unfortunately! Just had a new wiper arm fitted as the pipe had worn out, obviously Jaguar don’t just sell a piece of pipe. You have to buy the whole new wiper arm. Luckily under warranty.
The idea in principle is good but it is pretty crap in practice.
