Scratched Interior Sill Plastic Trim

Just wondered if anyone knows the part number (or proper name) of this bit? The car is less than a year old but has quite a few scratches on this plastic part. I’ve not found anything convincing on making it good again so better to order a new one. IMG_9397.jpeg

That’s what they are there for, to protect the paintwork as you get in and out. I think I’d be inclined to treat them with something like Autoglym bumper and trim gel.

If you are looking for replacements try googling FType scuff plates or FType tread plates.

Mine were scratched so I pulled them off the car and wrapped the plastic trims in carbon fibre wrap and fitted them back.

Easy to pull out the plastic trims and wrap them with help of a hair dryer to heat the wrap and smooth out. I did this 8 years ago and still look like new.

Thankyou I’ll look into that.

Great idea. I didn’t think of that. Thankyou!

Welcome!

Even the carbon fibre wrap will show scratches so I added some clear PPF on top of the carbon fibre wrap where it is most likely to get scratched. Not on the entire trim but just where it is most likely to get scratched by the feet getting in and out. This protects the wrap and does not show up the scratches and can be replaced easily otherwise you will have to re-cover with a new piece of wrap after a while.

I had my aluminum door sills wrapped in PPF when I had the rest of the car done as they are prone to scuffs and scratches as well.
