Sat Nav SD Card Failure

I went to collect my brand new F Type Cabrio (3.0S) on Saturday but had to refuse to take delivery. It had been in the Oxford showroom for at least 3 weeks and no-one had realised that the Sat Nav SD card was not actually working with the car! Anyone else had this issue? Asked why they couldn't just swap and was told this was not possible as each card was 'unique' to the car. Sounds like a bit of C&B to me - anyone know what the issue is and is it going to be a long term problem. Huge excitement <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /> turned to massive disappointment - thanks Ridgeway! <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />

Blimey I can feel your pain.. <div></div>Could they not let you have the car with the duff sat nav and book you in to get the problem sorted as and when they got the fix ?<div>Steve</div><div> </div>

Cheers for the reply and sympathy - I could and yes they offered but then it becomes a real pain in terms of booking the car in etc. and once I'd accepted it potentially my problem! They've confirmed it's the SD card and hopefully delivered tomorrow or Wednesday. If anyone reads this it's worth checking when you pick yours up that it's all in order. Disappointment is that the first 50 miles on the clock wont be mine! Fingers crossed ...

Mines going back and forth at the moment , after the latest service the bonnet has become miss-aligned and now the door is catching on the bonnet and has took the paint off.. had to go all the way back so they could take photos... then once jaguar say "yes this is warranty problem" it goes all the way back again for a week ... <div> </div><div>I also reported to my Jaguar dealer that my steering wheel when straight was causing the car to steer into the middle of the road (this was after some local boys fitted new tyres and did the tracking).. I explained that they had adjusted something and to please check and correct. 1st time they said "No problems with that its all within the normal limits"... £70 charge for checking... I then complained 2 days later saying "look its just NOT correct , I've had the car a year I know how it drives".. I go back a week later , wait 3 hours and they then re-check and agree the front wheels were not aligned correct.. now all sorted... interesting though that the first time around it was "road tested" and was all ok.. hmmm</div><div> </div>it is frustrating.. but the enjoyment of the car in-between these little hassles is worth it .. I do seem prone though with cars to get hassle . <div><br>Fingers crossed you can enjoy yours ASAP :-)</div>

I did have the tracking information for the F-Type (somewhere in amongst the docs), and believe me, the tolerances are huge, so much so that you can make the car really feel off if it is set up on the edges of the tolerances.<div>In the dealers defence though, they most probably haven't a clue and it is more than likely the first F that they have had to track <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div>

Just had an update on the SD card! Apparently new SD card was fitted and it happened again - now they've ordered a new hard drive infotainment system and its being stripped out and replaced. Not impressed at all - I was offered a white demonstrator for a couple of days but can't be bothered with the aggro. Apparently I might get it by the weekend........ How can something that has been in a show room for 3 weeks be that faulty?<div><br></div><div>Lets see what happens but I'll be all over the interiors to see just how much damage has been done replacing the armrest module.</div><div><br></div><div>Not good!</div>

That's just unreal... id be well p****d off ! with you on checking the interior but im sure they will take lots of care... lets hope you get it for the weekend and we can see some pictures of the new beast !<div></div>

I cant see one on my 2013 plate , im assuming its hid from users so they don't take it in/out or format it etc or do self updates ?<div></div>

Apparently the YM16 models with 'standard' audio have the SD card system so that you can upload new maps etc for your Sat Nav easier. Pretty sure they said older models and upgraded Meridian Audio set ups don't have it. Its literally a slot in the arm rest box. It's causing an awful lot of grief for a £15 bit of memory chip!
