Sat Nav ETA - not taking account of traffic?

Glorious weekend of sunny driving having retrieved our new F from the dealer now with working switchable exhaust, but I'm finding the satnav to be a real pain for both ETA and route choices when there is traffic. Any tips for settings that help? Is it just mine and it's worth throwing some puppy dog eyes at the dealer and seeing if they can update the software (YC14 car)? Or has everyone else who lives in a city given up on it (it's not bad out of town, a bit attached to its original route, but okay overall)<div> </div><div> </div><div>The sat nav clearly _knows_ about the traffic, it throws up warnings and in fact seems inclined to try and sweep round the slightest traffic hitch with nary a care for how slow the diverted route might be (hello speedbumps) which in central London is taking me down some interesting roads indeed. But the ETA always seems to show the 'no traffic' version of the time, which given I often have to traverse central London means I can't rely on it at all. I live near the blackwall tunnel which shows this up very well. Whenever I arrive at the tunnel it tells me I am 3 minutes from home, even if we are sat in stationary traffic and have been for some time. But you can easily see the problem by powering up google maps for comparison on almost any London journey.</div><div> </div><div>I really don't want to have to go back to sticking a tomtom on the windscreen, or keep being an hour late for things....any suggestions?</div><div> </div><div>Cheers,</div><div> </div><div>Jess </div>

There are a few mentions of the sat nav on this forum. Essentially it is (to be polite) crap. <br /><br />My previous car was an XF and the sat nav in that was also rubbish. <br /><br />Jaguar, with all their history and branding, don't seem to be able to get the sat nav bit right.
