Roof box - any recommendations?

Dogs in the boot of an F Type? Really?
I was also surprised with that in a Luxury Sports Car such as the F-Type! I suppose that's what makes the world go round...we're all different!

Best to get back on topic now...

With planning you could probably squeeze your luggage to the sides of the boot and begins the seats, leaving the area in the middle fruit the dogs?

thanks for the all ideas guys.

yeh so didn't realise the F-type wasn't designed to support roof box or didn't have roof rails.
So just to give you guys a bit more of insight into why would I want to take an F-type with dogs, and luggage.

Realistically we probably won't be taking the dogs - we usually kennel them when we do europe. HOWEVER I do want the option to be able to take the dogs (little ones - Poochon/long haired chihuahua) if we decided to. Or even for day trips.

So yeh I guess I need to if I can find a suitable dog bed - with two leashes and with enough room in the boot for a carry-on + duffel. + backpack, or two duffels and a backpack.

As for alternative cars, - so has to be a coupe of some sort. Non negotiable. I'm currently in an M2 - possibly the best of all worlds... performance / practicality, looks, reliability, and space. But as much as I love my M2 - I miss having a proper sports coupe (previous 350z / z4 coupe). The 350z was surprisingly good for the dogs, as the dogs were elevated in the boot - so they were literally at shoulder height looking out into the dash.

There's really only one other alternative 997.2 or 991. which gives the practicality but in my opinion they are currently way overpriced.

So essentially it comes down to F-type which I feel seems to be at acceptable price range.

M4's - no for me - too similar to the M2. Merc - not really my cup of tea and the AMG GT which I do like is out of budget.
Nothing from Alfa. No to Supra. No to Alpine. And no to Audi - maybe TT RS - but not convinced its a better driving experience compared to M2 / F-type. old Aston Martin Vantage - a bit too pricey to run and daily.

SO I guess its either the F-type or stick with M2

Would defo be open to exploring a mod tho cost permitting...but wouldn't want to ruin body work either.

If you're going back as far as 996/997, why not look at a late XK8? You get the coupe style, V8 and rear seats...

A 981 or 718 Cayman sounds up your street. They have a decent boot and a frunk for luggage. In fact the raised parcel shelf area sounds perfect for your dogs….leaving you loads of luggage space.

The interior/technology is 991 and the 981s have fantastic 6 cylinder engines.
You get a lot newer car for your money than the 911s.

Agree with “F-Typo” If you are looking at old Porsche 911’ or Cayman the XK8 is a far better proposition. Your dogs would be either deafened or worse somewhat cooked behind the engine 😲

The XK and XKR are super GT cars and the V8 roar is amazing. They’re a practical 2+ car and would get my money over the Cayman too.
The OP seems to like a more sporting edge so I’m not sure what he’d make of them.
In all honesty, having had similar musings myself, I’d buy the F Type and compromise on the luggage space (in fact I did).
