Ride quality improvement needed

Hi All.

I have a 2018 v6 r dynamic , love the car but my only gripe is the ride at low speed is a little hard for me. I think the thinner seats on the facelift cars dont help as i used to have an early v8 and that was fine.

However , my car does not have configurable dynamics, i know its possible to get my car upgraded with configurable dynamics and im wondering if putting it into the softest setting would give me a noticeable improvement in ride quality over a standard R dynamic variant ?

My other option is progressive rate springs from VAP which im told help in this regard, but id prefer an easier software upgrade if i though this would help.
So, do any users here who have configurable dynamics sense a ride quality improvement when going through the different settings ?

thanks

Configurable dynamics aren't that configurable - they only allow you to switch between "dynamic" and "normal". So you can opt for "Normal" suspension when in dynamic mode, etc. but you can't soften the ride beyond "Normal". And I haven't noticed any real diference between the two (not saying there isn't a difference, though, just my perception).

As scm says, you can't soften the suspension with the configurable dynamics, just opt for having standard suspension settings in dynamic mode instead of the supposedly stiffer ones.

Same thing here - I don't notice any difference but that's probably because I drive on super smooth roads 99% of the time. The only time I think I noticed a bit of a difference was on bumpy English B roads.

Could maybe look at going with slightly smaller wheels with a higher profile tyre.

Didn't the i4 come on 19's as standard? Could see if someone wants to do a wheel swap.

I have configurable dynamics and all I’ve done is put the dynamic mode suspension to normal. As others have said there isn’t much in it but in mine it feels a bit stiffer in dynamic but is ok (for me) in normal with 20” rims. When not in dynamic it’s in the softer ‘normal’ setting anyway. Smaller rims may help you and are easily swapped, softer springs may help too but not so easy to change.

what tyres are you running? Same as the other v8 you had?

also, these Vap springs. .. Funny enough I have had progressive springs before on another car and they helped for sure. Might be the way to go if the evidence for them stacks up.

Though i must admit, never heard of Vap but I'm a newbie here
