Retrofit of Climate Seats by LR Chip.

Visited LR Chip in Maidstone who activated the climate seats I purchased from Syd, and can't recommend them enough.

A bit of background, my car had the 6 way adjustable slim non heated seats. I purchased the climate seats and memory door switches from Syd. I also purchased a used climate panel from eBay to give me the heated seat switches.
Syd was under the impression everything was plug and play once everything was fitted and the wiring harness was present.
Unfortunately this is not the case.

Fitting the seats and the door switches were very straightforward, with 6 way adjustment and memory function working fine with no additional work or coding needed.
The climate panel was also an easy fit and aside from the heated seat option worked fine.
One thing that never seemed to work was the lumber support.... But I didn't have that previously so I assumed it needed activation.

Getting the seats activated was made harder than it should have been by me really. I researched it to death and convinced myself it was just a case of software activation.
I emailed Mo at LR Retrofit, and emailed him again, and messaged him on Instagram...not a single reply.

Jenya at LR Chip in the other hand communicated straight away and was happy to do the work, trying software activation first and if that didn't work would sort the wiring harness, although he did say he was fairly happy the harness wouldn't be present.

First impressions count as they say, and the workshop at LR was a very clean and impeccably organised. Jenya is very knowledgeable clearly knew his stuff.

After having a look at the seats he concluded they did need additional work around the harness, but also found the motor for the cushion tilt present but without harness. Once connected, the adjustment became 8 way instead of 6 way (lumber aside) , and as it was demonstrated, the switches fitted to vehicles with 6 way seats actually have 8 way adjustable switches.

If you have 6 way adjustable seats, have a look underneath, if they have the motor shown in the picture they can be activated to 8 way.

If you don't have heated seats and want to fit them, you will need a harness fitting.

The other thing identified was that the seats didn't have any lumber support. The wiring loom you'd expect to see coming from the bladder and motor wasn't there.
Was lumber not an option on climate seats?

Anyway, many thanks to Jenya I now have 8 way adjustable climate seats fully working.
Highly recommend LR Chip if you need anything retrofitting.
