Retrofit/activation Turn down the passenger mirror in R

Hi,
i do not have this function but is very useful.
Is there any activation for this function?
I can buy VXDIAG if necessary for enabling it.

In mine (MY18) I can enable it through the Vehicle Settings menu. However, don't find it very useful since by default it dips too low for my taste and can't be permanently user-adjusted as I could in my previous XKR.
 
Avtivate it in the vehicle settings menu. When it dips after selecting reverse alter the angle with the joystick. It should remember the mirror angle the next time you reverse.
Its on page 52 in my manual. I also seem to remember pressing the seat memory does something as well.
 
That "position will be remembered" was a lie in some MY18 handbooks, and isn't in my MY18 handbook - that expressly states it can't be saved. So if you're MY17 or earlier, it's a lottery win for you!
 
Yeah mine is also MY18 and it’s quite annoying how it doesn’t save to what you adjust it to whilst in reverse and each time reverse is selected it dips all the way to the bottom.

One thing I do in my car is to have one of the memory seats positions (position #3) set up to my normal driving position but with the mirrors dipped down so if I need to park up near a kerb I will press #3, the mirrors will fold down and then I press #1 again to return it back to normal once parked up

Yeah, i did that just after I got the car but it's such a faff I never bother with it. It's a shame as I used the feature a lot on my XKR, which did things "properly". I don't know why Jaguar sees fit to remove useful features as the model "progresses".
 
I can only vouch for Series I cars.
All my literature runs up to 16 reg 'ish.

Seems daft that the feature is removed on Series II cars?

Yep! One of the guys on the US forum has an MY18 and his handbook asserts that the position will be saved, but his experience is that it isn't. My handbook explicitly states that it won't be saved.
 
Interesting...Maybe it was a ploy - people were becoming too good at reversing and parking!
How would we ever market and sell our auto parking cars 😏
 
The control for this feature is included in the memory seat controls - if you don’t have memory seats it won’t be possible to activate it in the display menu’s.

I know one person has retro-fitted the memory seat switches, but don’t know if that then allows the reverse mirror function to be activated.
 
In fact I don't have seats with memory and I don't have the function on the menu.
I find that it is a very useful thing in the parking phase and I would like to activate it. I had it on my previous audi tt and I would want also on my Jag. Mine car is My2019.
Do you remember where did you see about the seat memory retrofit?
