Retro-fit Heated Seats

I’m off to look at a car tomorrow, which is pretty much on spec apart from the lack of heated seats.

I’ve found a company called AV Solutions in Bury who can retro-fit a system for a reasonable price.

Has anyone come across AV Solutions? Or are there any recommendations for an alternative installer?

Thanks.

Hi Jono

how much are they charging? And is it an aftermarket change to your current seats or do they source and put in OEM heated ones?
Do they wire into existing heater panel or is it a separate switch?

If you source the seats make sure you get the ones which were available with that MY - then the seat frames are identical

Be very clear if they are making the oem work or aftermarket with switch. I did a swap some years back on an XF and the software was a real issue. Ended up using my original loom and heating pad, so the system thought all was oem
Aftermarket alternative was new pads and a horrible rocker switch in the side plastic of the seat..

Thanks for the replies.

It’s not an OEM retro-fit, it’s an aftermarket kit, with the control switch located on the trim piece at the bottom of the seat. They strip the seats down fit the heat mats, and put it all back together again. Not sure where the power feed comes from.

The pictures in their website show a very neat installation. Cost is £499.

I’d rather have factory fit, but if every thing else is right with the car it was an option.

If your happy with it that’s the main thing

I’d always look into an OEM retrofit though, if you sold your original seats to recoup some cash then could be similar price

Either way, get the car, you won’t regret it!
