Repainted rear calipers

As with many people on here, my rear calipers were wearing thin on paint

So I decided to buy a kit from BCS Automotive Ltd and they recommended Ferrari Red, so after jacking up the car

I wire brushed then using my drill driver and then cleaned with brake cleaner. All of this was done with the caliper insitu as it's only aesthetic rather than functional.
After 2 coats I'm quite pleased with the results but will need to check all is well after some hard and hot braking.

Considering they are done in situ, outside, I think the results are remarkable!

They are a piece of cake to take apart if you ever do them again.

What type of paint/coating is it?

Remarkable job, you must have a lot of patience and a steady hand!

Hi Tel,
Not sure but it was a mix of paint and hardener (is this what they call two pack?), mixed 2 paint to 1 hardener and gave off a lot of nice smelling fumes.
I did get the kit some time ago and after a few months the hardener set in the bottle, so they kindly sent me a replacement FOC.

That's a misspent youth right there! ;)

I know the stuff, bit like the 2 part fibreglass resin, only smells nicer!

Thanks. I have spare F type calliper on my bench I might 'play' with.

I also have that OCD with alignment of valve nut and Growler

I now need to go out and check my locking nuts ! I know the Growler chin to valve orientation is correct but now my nuts need checking as well :o

I've done a few in situ over the years including XKR, never wanted to take off but might check out YouTube next time I do any

Must have been the week for it

Did you remove the clips with the Jag decal when you painted the front calliper?
If so I assume you renewed the decal?

Are the decals a Jaguar part or from a third party?

I purchased mine from https://www.brakecaliperdecals.co.uk/

They are available in various colours and suitable for high temp applications.
