Remote app not connecting to car

So I registered the remote app but without paying for a subscription, more so I could ensure the old owner couldn't track me and turn up one day like a scene from Psycho, rather than the additional features it can give.

But whilst the app appeared to connect (when I pressed the button during registration), it always says the car is asleep, I've tried looking at the app whilst the engine is on, and even when connected to the car by USB but it always says the vehicle could not be located.

It appears to know the car but the mileage is out by almost 20k (see picture). Any idea why it isn't connecting?

Have you completed these steps of the setup process?



I was noticing the same issue when I was on a free account, however once I paid for the subscription and re-connected to the car, it was showing all the latest info.

Yes I did those steps, but maybe it doesn't show anything if you don't have the subscription
