Rear number plate light

Hi folks just acquired myself a stunning f type, and was wondering if it's normal for the rear number plate light to be constantly on even when parked and locked? It's on very dim and no other lights are on, any clarification is much appreciated

Definitely not normal! I know there's an issue whereby some of the electrics can stay on after something has been plugged into the OBDII port under the steering wheel, not sure if that might explain this or not, but to fix that issue, you need to disconnect the battery for about 10 seconds or so. Might be worth a try.

I think there might also be a technical bulletin to fix the issue permanently so worth asking your dealer next time it gets serviced (or if disconnecting the battery doesn't work, take it to dealer anyway).
 
Looks like I'll be taking it to dealer as the boot also pops open by itself after twenty or so seconds of unlocking the car. I first thought I accidentally keep hitting the button with my knee when I get in the car. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come!
 
Not heard of either of those before so hopefully just a one-off issue which they'll get sorted and fingers crossed the rest of your ownership remains trouble-free!
 
Wee update, after a few hours at Maserati Hamilton they have sorted the problem, was a wiring issue..some wires touching wires it shouldn't, a bit of isolation and all done! Roll on happy motoring
