Rattle behind passenger seat

Hi all<div> </div><div>This is my first post ever on a forum so apologies if any protocol hasn't been properly observed! I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue to the one I'm currently having. My F-Type is just under two months old and has covered 1700 miles. Over the past month or so a rattle has developed somewhere behind the passenger that has become increasingly prominent. Initially it was only audible over rough surfaces but eventually became constant irrespective of the surface. I took it to the dealer and following a couple of days of investigation some tape/glue to some of the fixings in the pillar was supposedly applied. This seemed to work for the first 20 mins after I got the car back. But now, only a day later, the rattle is back again (though admittedly not as bad as it was before I took it in).</div><div> </div><div>The thing is, I can't actually hear specifically where it is coming from. It's like a screw or bolt has come loose and sounds like something metallic is gently knocking against something else metallic. Whatever it is, it is very irritating and I can't avoid hearing it!</div><div> </div><div>Has anyone had anything similar and, if so, been able to determine what the cause was?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks very much for your help and apologies if this has been previously raised/dealt with.</div><div> </div><div>Cheers</div><div> </div><div>A</div>

I have light tinkling rattle from somewhere in the same area. Could be the same thing.<br /><br />It sounds a bit like when your keys jangle.

I've no idea. <br /><br />Due to the uselessness of my dealer on other issues, and the fact that it's somewhat intermittent, I've not bothered to take the car in for this rattle.<br /><br />

Fair enough! Thanks very much though - it's strangely comforting to know someone else has a similar issue and is probably dealing with it better than I am! I'll let you know if the dealer does find any success in resolving the issue.

Hello all<div><br></div><div>I have a ex demo V6S with all the whistles and bells. I bought it was perfect but I have an annoying rattle right by my ear when I'm driving. I thought t was the window - not sure now. Trouble is noise is a wave transmission and can be coming from anywhere even thou you think you hear it from a certain place.</div><div>When I had a Westfield I would not have worried but this is a pretty expensive car. I'll just see what the dealer says but it would be a disaster to have it dismantled and investigated. Also the door seal by the drivers head is set in differently than on the passengers side - anyone have this issue?</div>

I get a slight buzzing sound thats emanating from the storage compartment between the backrest of the seats. It seems to happen only when Im driving on the motorway and starts buzzing at a certain speed and gear, about 160mph, no just kidding. Its probably some poxy loose fitting or something, Im gonna prod around the back to see if I can ascertain the problem. Ill let you know if I find something relevant.

Thanks Joemax<div>I was wondering just now if it was the box between the seats. I'll try opening the lid while driving.</div><div><br></div><div>Regards Jonathan</div>

Ideally Jonathan it would be to have someone with you to try and pinpoint more or less where the rattling is coming from. In fact I exactly did open the lid to the storage box whilst I was driving this morning, difficult to access precisely whats causing the buzzing but it certainly coming from that area.<div>Joe</div><div><br></div>

Hi all!<div><br></div><div>Have someone found the solution for this issue?</div><div>I have exactly the same metal rattle and it is annoying!!!</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks</div><div>A</div>

I have this issue on the driver's side. It started after about a month on my new V6S coupe. I think I have identified it as coming from the connections holding the trim on the door pillar. My trim is not fastened correctly and I think the fasteners are causing the rattle. It's an intermittent problem so I haven't taken it back to dealer yet to be fixed but it's starting to get annoying.<br />RB
