Purchasing F Type - with Carbon Ceramics HELP

Good Afternoon,

I am proceeding with a Purchase of an F Type with Carbon Ceramics - i'm a big fan of this car/spec, and therefore I want to proceed.

Before I plunge in - is there anything worthwhile checking out with regards to the CCB? I've heard horror stories of their cost to replace!

Appreciate any guidance / thoughts,

Thanks,

They should last for around 100,000 miles so don’t worry and enjoy the dust-free alloys!

Ensure the pins are in the toolkit for when the wheel is removed for tyres/cleaning to avoid damaging the disc, when replacing the wheel the nuts are torqued up in three stages starting at 17Nm, and only use hand tools on the nuts to avoid damaging them

I bought one last year with CC - they did make a bit of a grumbling when testing them so i returned the car to the dealer for inspection and sadly the pads crumbled when we removed them. Long story short the dealership replaced the pads - i think the cost to them was around £2500. The rears are perfectly fine and following the change the brakes are fantastic. If you are going to be doing day to day / stop start driving then every once in while it is advised to get them hot, this also clears any light film of carbon on the disc face, to get them hot get up to 60-70 and do a fast stop a few times over - this also eliminates any squeaks I find.

Im no expert but like you i did a lot of reading up on this with other marques too (Mclaren, Porsche forums) and same topics / advice was covered there.
