Pulled Over for the right reason

I decided to take the F-Type for a pleasure drive tonight and invited my daughter along for the ride as she is back home for the weekend. Anyway, we were just going down a nice long country lane at a sensible speed when we saw two cars pulled up on the grass in front of us and 4 young men stood by them. As we got closer the boys started to wave us down. Thinking their may be a problem I duly pulled over to help but was instead greeted by "Wow! That's a nice car". After a few pleasant exchanges of words, I gave them the view of the rear of the car as we did a 0-60 for them to watch. The smile on my daughters face and the high-five that followed was priceless. <div><br></div><div>For one night, and one night only, I'm the coolest Dad in the world in her eyes <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" alt="Big smile" title="Big smile" /></div>

lol.<div><br></div><div>It's a nice true story and I'm glad I had an eye witness otherwise my wife would not have believed me <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>

What makes us buy a decent sports car? Having had some outrageously exotic cars over the decades going back to my first E type in 1966, I still ponder the question as I settle down into the drivers seat and move off down the road. The sexy curves, the exhilarating performance, the appreciative (sometimes jealous) looks from members of the public, the status symbolism, (in the early days) the lady-pulling power, the comfort and handling, the joy of knowing that it can go past almost anything therefore why bother - yes all those things but, most of all, the pride and satisfaction of knowing that you own a beautifully designed and engineered mode of transport whether or not you are at the wheel.<div>No wonder someone shouted from the pub garden as I was driving off the other day - "t**ser"<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div>

Very true Jags....:) <div><br></div><div>Its also nice when you meet people that just look at the car and say "yeah thats really really nice" and genuinely appreciate it for all the reasons you mentioned above...</div><div><br></div><div>To add my own....</div><div><br></div><div>A young kid was taking pics of my car in a car park recently when I returned with the shopping. I took the camera off him and took lots of pics with him around it and even inside posing behind the wheel.</div><div>He was in cloud nine!</div><div><br></div><div>Its nice to be able to make peoples day sometimes and not be called a "t**ser" ;) </div>

It certainly does.<br /><br />During the summer I was outside waxing my F-Type when a neighbour walked past with his son. I heard Dad say to his son "that's just fabulous" and the son keenly agreed. To cut a long story short we struck up a conversation about the car during which the son mentioned he was going to his end of year school party the following week and would really like to arrive in style. So, I volunteered to help and took him along, much to the envy of all his mates who were assembled outside. I was advised later that the F-Type was the best sounding and best looking car that arrived that evening and it made the young chaps day.<br /><br />His Dad was just as delighted and often stops for a chat when he's passing by.<br />

agree with the above - its the only car i know that generates such a positive reaction from so many people.<div><br></div><div>I have lost count of how many times someone has stopped to say what a great car it is - seems to be an almost daily occurrence </div>

I was at a suppliers offices yesterday and I was parking got greeted by a couple of the team who said they heard the car and came out for a look ... all very pleasant ...<div> </div><div>When leaving later in the day I popped into the adjoining office to sat cheerio to be greeted by "mines the company weasel 2 along from yours, feel free to drive it like you stole it" and if you leave your keys I'll return them in 30-40k miles ... </div><div> </div><div>It does appear to be a car that everyone likes ... I feel very fortunate to found one ...</div>

I was sat in my car waiting for my wife to return from shopping. A mum and a young boy walked past, the mum says wow look at that car and the boy replies I think it's a Ferrari, no it's a Jaguar mum says when they turn an look at the rear of the car. <br><br>Five minutes later an older guy walks past and circles round the car. That's just beautiful he says and circles around for a second time. We have a chat about the 'huge' exhaust pipes and the fact that golf clubs will fit. It's fairly obvious he's not a car buff and wanted to know 'how long Jaguar had been making cars that look like that'. He was scottish, but I forgot to tell him it was designed by a scotsman, which would probably have been the icing on the cake. <br> <br>
