I went to start the car today - it has been sitting for about 4 days on the drive

All that happened was a "click/tick" and nothing else? Has anyone else ever had an issue like this?

The battery is pretty much fully charged as have a car charger - not fitted this week but was charged up last week or so... and have taken the car out since then - also nothing has been left on in the car to drain the battery - no aftermarket mods or "ghost" systems fitted ...

Here is a short video of the issue

Hi Ya,

Do you know if it's still got the original battery fitted? If so, I would put my money on a dead or dying cell, 8 years out of a battery is good going. Even if not the original, it has all the classic symptoms of a dead cell (Voltage OK, but no current available for starting)

Hi Stu, thanks for the post, The car is "new to me" so I am not sure, I have a few receipts of things done, but looking at it now nothing shows battery - I will go and see if the battery has a manufacture date on it .. TBC

Battery Date - 03 11 2021 - so this is not the original battery (only 3 years old)

Check this thread out, if the car is new to you possibly OBD drain if a diagnostic check not shut down correctly? Could still be a battery failure, try starting with some electrics on, how does it perform, if not power related, possibly starter motor or a poor connection?

Update - Put the car on charge last night "just in case" CTEK charger on "green"

went to start the car again and still same issue -

I can go and grab some fuel no problem, - would a lack of fuel prevent a turn-over? The starter is doing nothing.

Checkout this thread, as there is a connector that can easily corrode, but there are (at least) 2 locations it could be.

This was mine after not a lot of mileage...

CTek will only tell you out half the story (Volts, not current delivery capability) - have you access to another car you can attempt to "Jump" start off of?
