Pirelli v ANO for F Type SVR

Hi all
Probably been covered more times than......

But, I’ve had the SVR for about 3 weeks, the Pirelli’s have done 18000 miles. They feel hard and, dare I say it, there may be a tiny vibration at higher speeds. Is this sort of mileage about normal? No tracks, typical UK roads.

So, they have to go. Normal thoughts are Good old Michelin’s. How much better are they on an F Type

Thanks for not yawning!

Roger

Folks on the US forum say the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are a great improvement over the Pirellis. I'm amazed if yours have done 18,000 miles, I've never got more than 10,000 on tyres on any of the 4 Jaguars I've had. And on an SVR, too! :o

My Pirellis haven't done too bad.
I am well on my way with a second set of front tyres already (originals did about 15,000 miles), but the first set of rears are just about ready for change now.
My car is just about to turn 20,000 miles.

My rears were gone at 9,000 miles. Fronts are fine.
Now 15,000 miles and about 4-5mm all round left.

I went for the Pilot Sport 4S’s, a great improvement in my opinion

Shop around, Costco have some great prices and deals every few weeks too

At work we use three characters as an identifier for a person so I am SRS and ANO in our engineering team is "another personal" IE a job assigned to a person not yet defined.

So I presume the title means Pirelli Vs Another Brand.

On my SVR with Pirellis I have done:

Rears 1st set 12,500 (including a day at Goodwood :D ) 2nd set 18,000 (but they were illegal!)
Fronts 1 set 20,000 2nd set 15,000 and still good.

I changed the rear to Sport Pilots - to see what they are like and struggled to source the Pirellis - a few months ago. I think they are better, but will know more as the weather gets worse. I felt the Pirellis got a lot better the warmer they were. Great round Goodwood, but they were almost melting! I didn't always feel confident in the cold, wet British winter on them. I suspect that if the Michelin are better in the cold, then they won't last as long. I do a reasonable amount of motorways. I am heavy footed and clumsy  and suspect that without traction control etc they would last a couple of 1,000 at best!!

Paid about £575 for the Michelin rears at Merit Tyres a couple of months ago.
