Got my phone connected to the car. So unclear when speaking to people. It’s an iPhone with the latest updates etc. Phone is not at fault because it’s okay my other car. Anybody got any thoughts and how to cure this please?

Did it ever work with the F-type? Try to unpair the phone and pair it again.

My phone (Samsung) has always been the same but, as I don't use the phone as much as I used to, I've never done anything about it.

Never had an issue with the phone in mine. I don't use it much, but the only complaint I had was from a caller who was worried that I was using my phone illegally while driving (I was actually a passenger at the time with a newly broken wrist).
