P340 with standard diff, which oil?

JaguarXF-2018

Hi, I am in the process of getting my gearbox and differential oil replaced. I am not sure what is the factory specified differential oil for my car. It is a 2018 F-Type P340 cabrio without the limited slip differential, I guess we can call it the standard differential. Does anyone know what is the Jaguar recommended differential oil for the standard diff (non LSD)?

The info I have is Vehicles with 3.0L petrol (340 PS) SAFXO Dry Fill 0.84 - 0.86 Wet fill 0.815 - 0.835 Litres

You need this one.

Apologies for the full size image - just popped into the garage and posted from my phone.

You should have the wet fill amount for an oil change, but worth cross-checking against the amount drained out.

Just seen this and wondering if anyone knows at what age/mileage the gear box and/or the standard diff fluid should be replaced?

If you logon to osh.jaguar.com and type in your VIN you can view/download the service schedules for your specific vehicle. ZF recommends about 60,000 miles for a fluid change on the gearbox, for my rear locking diff (V8) it's every 4 years.

For a MY14 car it’s 10 years.

I did mine at 6 years but to be honest it could have gone a couple of years longer, as there’s relatively little wear on an open diff.

If you do it yourself (use search function on here) be sure to have a long extension and an oil pump (like a fat short bicycle pump) to hand as you don’t have space to invert the oil bottle fully. Best to measure what comes out and use a measuring jug to ensure the correct amount goes back in. Also undo the fill plug first - just in case!
