This is my first foray into Jaguar ownership, having never been tempted before, but when I first saw the TV ad 2 years ago, I just fell in love with the car. I've never paid this much for a car before and so I'm probably not in the same financial league as most of you guys, but I knew I just had to buy this car when I saw it.<br /><br />I collected my used....no, <strong>Jaguar Approved</strong> F type S convertible a week ago, a 2 year old in some fancy metallic black colour, the name of which I've already forgotten with cirrus interior and about £10k worth of extras including 20" wheels. Had I been buying from new, I certainly would've specified the black pack and probably would've paid for the red interior. Cirrus is cool, though, especially with the black, so no complaints.<br /><br />Unfortunately, most of my driving week has been spent pootling along at 20mph in traffic. I did manage to open it up a bit last weekend, though, and Oh. My. God! It was terrifying! Very noticeably faster than the non S that I test drove. I can't begin to imagine what the R must be like....<br /><br />(Have tried to post this before but got an error message, so if you see 2 posts from me, I sincerely apologise, BUT IT'S NOY MY FAULT! I also tried to post a photo, but wasn't having any of that either!)

That is the kind of post I like to read, having just ordered a coupe for delivery in April. Black & Cirrus is a great combination. Enjoy your new car.<br><br>Steve.<br>

Nice intro Superchd. Very open and down to earth description of your new foray into F-Type ownership. Good to hear that your aspirations and dreams about the car have come true for you.<br><br>Looking forward to seeing one or two photos of your new Jag, once the forum gremlins have smoothed themselves out a bit.<br><br>Are you planning to use the car throughout the winter? I get the impression that you will be using it as an everyday car? Just interested, as I plan to do that myself. I haven't had my F-Type all that long either, so the experience is all pretty new to me also.<br><br>

Hi Superchd - great to hear from you - welcome to the forum - this is also my first Jag experince - I have a 340ps coupe which I use as my daily driver - 10,000 miles since 3rd March (so it looks like I'm gonna blow my annual mileage allownace of 15,000 - oops )<div></div><div>Lovin my car - having always had 'sensible' company car diesels I'm afraid I hooked on noisy petrol cars now <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div><div> </div><div></div>

Pretty much snap superchd :) my last car was a t reg Nissan! Now have a fancy black convertible s and a smile that won't quit. 4 months in and still loving it, best summer ever. Welcome to the club! Jess

Welcome to the F-Type Owners Club Richard!<div><br></div><div>Congratulations on your purchase. Is it a V6 or V8 - Cirrus is very nice looking (although I have Red/Jet), certainly lightens up the cabin.</div><div><br></div><div>Get out early on a Sunday morning, on some B roads and have fun - that's what they're for!</div><div><br></div><div>Be sure to check out the Technical section, there's some interesting topics that cover a few items that may (or may not) crop up.</div>

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome. There seems to be an eclectic mix of people on this site...and that's a good thing. Managed to find some open country roads today and 'found my happy' - such a great feeling and such a beautiful soundtrack! A double whammy as I did this in the course of my duties at work (sort of), so was actually getting paid for it too!<br /><br />In answer to your question, Tel, it's a V6 S, but that's more than enough for me!!

Oh, and I forgot to say my Facebook feed today came up with a reminder of a post I made exactly 2 years ago (as it does sometimes). This was a photo of a car pretty much identical to the one now own with my caption: "I really really really really really really really want an f type"

Living proof that dreams really do come true if you go after them hard enough. (Hence my motto...' Live life like you mean it' ).<br><br>Getting paid to drive your F-Type?........Now that <b>IS</b> a wonderful idea !!<br>

<div> Yup - 15 years of hard work got me mine...worth every penny for a 'soulful' car.</div><div><br></div><div>Having tried all the brands available in the similar price range, the F was the only one that was a 'true' sportscar in my opinion...just gutted I have to put it away to bed and go off to do some work now for a month :-(</div>

I was exactly like you, when I first saw the car ad I was besotted...and when it was reviewed on Top Gear there was no turning back for me to get my first ever sports car. I bought mine last year and boy, what a rush!!!! The F Type is what a proper sports car should be, the looks, the performance and the awesome sounds that it produces is just out of this world. Waahoooo!!!
