Opinions on wheel colour please..

About to get my wheels refurbished- currently standard gloss black, which I don’t really like (not the colour per se, but the gloss bit)
I’m in a dilemma as to keep them black to match the black pack bits but have them satin, or go for a similar colour to the SVR wheels (or Porsche satin platinum which I really like)

What do you think would look best on Italian red?

As it is now

Change them from gloss black so that they don't match mine :P

Haha just kidding - I think for IRR the black all matching looks awesome, even when frozen.
I've changed almost all my silver bits to black inside and out, just a few more bits to go!

There’s no right answer in this sort of question, it’s what you like, but I think gloss black has been done to death and on too many Corsa’s, etc.

That metallic dark greys look way better. I’m running mine on stock colour carbon insert rims against near black paint and it works well with no chrome

The important thing for me is a coherent theme of all the external trims and wheels to create the look you want

In my humble opinion, grey is far classier and, as has already been said, less boy racer. Also it shows off the styling of the wheels better.

Thanks chaps
I'm certainly swaying more towards the satin platinum (so easy to keep clean!)

Only thing is that apart from the exhaust, there's nothing else a similar colour on the car. (Even has the interior black pack..)

That said though, adding a third contrast colour could work well.

I had exactly the same dilemma when I specced our F.
Look at the forged Blade colour that I have on mine, I think it's the best. Did gloss black Cyclones, never again!

My opinion is the grey rather than gloss black, but as others have said it's all personal taste, have whatever looks best to you.

I haven't seen a bad combination on an F-Type yet though.

Mine seems to buck the black trend as I wanted a silver/chrome contrast to the gloss black.

I have had the same thoughts of swapping out my OEM ones with all black or platinum (to remove all silver).

However after getting used to the OEM R alloys, I really think they look great on my car and have deceided to keep it all standard as it came from the factory. This car is a keeper, and keeping it fully original is kind of nice too ;)

It’s your car so go with what you like .. by example, my daily is a Merc yet I like the BMW shadow chrome finish so I had the alloys refinished to this style ...

Sayin grey gets my vote, agree that gloss black is just a little too shiny and unforgiving on grime. I like that porsche colour. Would you be getting your current wheels stripped and powder coated?

stunning car and IMO the best wheels are the Gyrodynes, you have a lovely shine on them. Never had a liking for black wheels. Some black wheels have a nice design but somtimes you can't even notice them.
