Evening everyone,

I am hoping for some help in my search for a specific F type, I am looking for a Caldera red P450 F type, is there any way of finding out how many F types were registered in Caldera red after say 2021?
I have been looking for a while now, I can’t seem to find the spec I am after, I can find combinations of the spec but not the spec🤷‍♂️ this got me wondering if my search field is so small or non existent hence the question how many Caldera red F types have been registered from 2021?

I have posted in the wants section but just in case the spec I am looking for is:-
caldera red
2021 plate or newer
Pano roof
Memory performance seats
Black pack
Heated wheel
Average to low miles
Fsh / remained of warranty

Any help appreciated

Hope you'll find one. I'm really happy with mine 😊 After having a grey sports coupe for 4 years I was ready for a change and the colour suits the F-type really well.

Presuming you are UK.

Unless I am mistaken, in 2021, the F-Type in solid paint Caldera Red (code 1BD) was not available on the R-Dynamic Black edition which came with the black pack.

So your looking for someone who spec'ed a Caldera Red but then added the black pack separately which would probably be rare because it would be more expensive than just choosing the black edition but not in red.

If you look for 2022 (MY22/23) and onwards then you will find more. There are 5 or 6 on auto trader such as this (minus heated steering wheel):

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401195715548?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&body-type=Coupe&colour=Red&make=Jaguar&minimum-badge-engine-size=5.0&model=F-Type&page=2&postcode=DE74%202JL&year-from=2021&fromsra

With limited numbers of F-Type's produced and with all the different model years, options and changes through the past 10 years, the chances of finding two EXACTLY the same might be rare.

Good luck with your search.

Or just push the boat out and go for a 575 😈

Thanks for reply’s I didn’t know about MY 21 R-Dynamic not available in Caldera red, so can concentrate on later MY’s,
yes several on AT but not in spec (normally performance seats missing) I guess I may have to compromise on some of my wants.

other than the one MikeM suggested but 575 😬 I’m not sure

Just to clarify, in 2021 there was an R-Dynamic model and an R-Dynamic Black Edition model with a black pack included.

Caldera Red was not an option on the R-Dynamic Black Edition in 2021 hence you might struggle so you need to look from 2022 plates where it was an option hence the 6 or so on Auto trader.

I see thank you for taking the time to reply and clarify that.
I may take MikeM’s advice and push the boat out on a 575.

Could I ask if you could give me some history details on reg number KN72 VDC this F type is for sale at Inchcape dealership in Guildford, the Caldera red ones that are for sale currently would involve a compromise on my part around the spec I want, this one has the spec I want the only compromise is higher power so not the worst, any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks Mike, I hope to view this f type this weekend, I had seen this advertised but was looking for P450 when you posted link did you happen to notice price ? I’m sure when I looked at the start of last week it was advertised below £64,000 it’s now £65,000+

Car 80977.

Jaguar had a batch of "KN72 V" plate cars for various uses including Goodwood, Fen End, Ice Driving in Sweden, demonstrators, private use etc.

This is a very common question I get asked, who had it first then? Unless the car has a picture online then it appears no one knows including Jaguar. Once the cars are done with after 1 year, they go back via COPART or Bruntingthorpe and are serviced and go to a closed BCA private JLR auction with a description which includes any repairs and one of three categories.

1) Ex Corporate Repurchase
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously owned by a vehicle rental company or allocated to a fleet available to JLR partners.
Possible multiple users.

2) Ex Jaguar Internal Fleet
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to a fleet available to JLR customers and partners.
Possible multiple users.

3) Ex Jaguar Management
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to an individual employee.

Here are some examples of other KN72 V cars in use at Fen End driving experience centre and Ice Academy.

I cannot find the car in question but it would of been a Jaguar car used for something.

Something else in common with this batch of cars is none of them have a PDI record on the service history. As I understand things, when a car ships from factory to first dealer a PDI process is followed which includes taking the two keys and locking them to car. This prevents a key from being coded from the OBD port as it puts the key control module into a read only mode which cannot be reversed. As other members have found out on newer cars, if you lose a key then I'll is around £900 because you need two new keys and the module has to be replaced.

This car has no PDI record. I cannot find it online nor know for sure where it was used. After 1 year and 1,623 miles it ended up back at Bruntingthorpe Thorpe for a service probably before repairs/storage and going to private JLR auction.

Another member says to check brake condition along a similar topic.

Sorry I cannot help any further.

EDIT: I have seen three of the BCA JLR closed auctions brochures where dealers buy them from for the used approved programme. Example.

I have removed the reg. This car is clear of any damage on any report as they are repaired in house and not via insurance.

I would also like to say that this doesn't mean it's a bad car.

You just won't know what or who it was used for or by. The same as any other brand or car. So it depends if that is important to you.

Thanks simpleR your knowledge and time is very much appreciated, please don’t apologise from what your information tells me it could of had a hard life, I am sure this is why many members post asking for history check, I for one am very nervous of picking up an experience day car, you used the term ‘done with’ in your reply for me that summed up the car I don’t think I will waste my time viewing this one or the other Caldera red 575 that is currently on AT it is also “V” plate car (KN72 VHD) so same batch

See that “Caldera Red” example shown has been for sale here for a few months now.

Had some interesting information from simpleR KN72 “V” plate cars could possibly have had a hard life maybe not but I will continue my search and give both these a miss

Buying any used car (ex-Jaguar or not) means taking a chance on how it's been treated/maintained. Do your due diligence and take a measured approach.

Thanks and yes, that’s what I meant.. I recall you did a post a while back explaining the history and usual route for reg’s KN,OE etc, but I can’t seem to find it. Can I please ask you to point me toward it. 👍

This might be a really good contender, its new to the market, meets your spec ( but also has AWD) and is in Caldera Red. 👍

Last one of the weekend folks.

Car 83788
This was registered as new with Kentdale Land Rover in Cumbria on 28th Feb 2023. Due 1st service at end of the month.

They kept it for 219 miles before selling it in mid-August 2023.

Looks like it was just used for promotional activities with low miles and appears in June 2023 at a Golf event for charity sponsored by the dealer.

Screenshot_20240203-113937.png

The second owner only kept it until 30th Jan 2024 (this week). So 2nd owner had it for less than 6 months.

Certainly worth a look and certainly needs a full Car Vertical check to ensure outstanding finance is cleared.

I like it, still under 400 miles on the clock, it’s a new car with the dealer and the first private owner taking the first year massive depreciation hit. Guessing the owner either couldn’t get on with it or personal circumstances changed? Not enough miles or time really to suggest anything untoward.
