Thank you for this post. You’ve made me think, my buying choices, are sensible! 😄

I follow DAE on IG, they fitted my VAP stuff. Thought your new exhaust sounded great. Tim had same exhaust, but also with 200 Cell Cats. His was, bonkers epic 😄

Anyway, good luck with sale. I’d also put it on the Jaguar F-Type Owners Club UK Facebook group 👍

Thanks mate, it does sound great... But it's bloody loud. I wish quiet mode was a little louder, loud mode was a little quieter!! Thanks I will stick it on there later

Question, if I put back on the standard back box and change to VAP 200 cell cats, what would the sound be like then?

Only have V6 experience. For me the perfect middle ground & best of both worlds. You would also have the VAP tune, which is a whole new ball game 👍

I wanted to retain the quiet mode for early morning weekend starts. Although it does bark on cold start, for couple of seconds, before flaps close. I think the neighbours are used to it!

Once warmed up & on the open road it is beautifully outrageous.

Would love to take this off your hands, but I think she’d divorce me, I’m already on a warning after she spotted the quote I got from Supersprint 😁…………….. anyway the cat change is an option I’d never thought of, If you do it please let us know what you think

I'm just trying to soak it all in, you bought a new exhaust from the states for i presume at least three grand, waited patiently 80 days for it to arrive, paid DAE to install it, and a day later your taking it off again and getting rid of it?

100% correct mono.

Sound is obviously completely subjective. I was hoping/aiming for a SVR level of sound. I don’t want to pay £6000 for a SVR box (will that even fit on my R!)

It’s louder than that, but not by much. It’s certainly not as louder as the Lister 666 or a car with 200 cell cats and a back box.

Just to me it’s too loud for most of the time. Which is a shame, as it looks the business and is a bit of a weight saving.

It’s still on the car, I’m away with work atm but it’ll be coming off when I get home.

Sure! I’d like to know if there is anyone on the forum with a standard back box and change their cats so we can have a listen? I’m not going in blind again lol

Oh I did ask if DAE or VAP would assist me with a refund or some credit or something.
It was a no, because they are made to order. Fair enough!! 🙂

I want these more than I want my next breath. I find the exhaust noise on my 2021 V8 is a little too muted unless you really gun it, but before you know it you’re doing …erm 70mph(!) …or so, and need to back out of it. Then the noise and fury is gone :(

Have you pulled fuse 15 under the bonnet? This disables the solenoid and leaves the flaps open.

To be honest, I’m not worried about hitting the exhaust button when I get in the car, and I quite like the option of driving in relative silence every now and then. I just want the noisy option to be a bit.. well, noisier!

Problem is the button on these later cars doesn't open the flaps fully. Without the fuse it gives you a nice rumble from tickover and that same 'noise' under acceleration but at much lower speeds

it's pitched just right and not really annoying. The only time it's a bit droney is maybe when pulling up the long hill on the M27 between Portsmouth and Southampton, but that situation is only for a brief couple of minutes every now and then.

I only put the fuse back when it goes in for service and MOT each year. Although, it has been into Harwoods for warranty work a couple of times and I forgot!

Anyway, this post is about selling a VAP exhaust at a barg price. Apologies for hijacking it.

Interestingly enough, my car is from Harwoods Chichester, and I use that stretch of M27 quite a bit!
