As for any tips not really im afraid apart from i didnt worry to much about scratching the anti rattle springs and i didnt thankfully.
In your previous post it sounded like you’d removed and refit the anti-rattle clips as is done when replacing the brake pads, but as you removed the whole caliper (to renew the discs) I assume this wasn’t necessary?
The anti-rattle clips do seem to be very difficult to refit unless it’s a case of ‘practice makes perfect’?
Today I had a reply from David Appleby Engineering about the Porterfield R4-S front & rear brake pads for my car (part numbers: Front AP 1750 / Rear AP 1752) and the price (not fitted) is £447 inc VAT & delivery.
I also contacted 'Garage Whifbitz' (as recommended by Tel) and the price on the same Porterfield pads (not fitted) is now £268 inc VAT & delivery......an excellent saving there! I’ll be considering these the next time my brake pads need renewing, although they’re over double the price of normal good quality pads.
