New owner F type R

Hi all

I have posted on the forum a couple times as I was hunting my perfect F type R (for my budget of course)

I wanted to say thank you all for your help, especially SimpleR for all the checks I nagged him with. But because of that managed to get a pre GPF R with none of the software updates applied and I'm over the moon!

Can't wait for the next few years! Will be likely using the forum all the time now too

Will

Curious - how did you check for the software updates? Just bought a R myself and it just seems the exhaust is rather "tamed"! But I maybe assumign that the pops and crackle are easy to produce even when the software was not updated.

Just stick in it in Dynamic and get the revs up! Which year is yours?

I think if you post registration number of your car some very helpful members are able to check and see what update has been applied or not applied 🤞

I'll be honest SimpleR did it, I don't know how. But then when you look on the service history under outstanding items it does say h239 software update, and when speaking to the seller he said he bought it specifically because it hadnt had the software updates, and all the services since 2018 where at independents so it all sort of matched up. And also I test drove 3 cars and this was certainly a livelier exhaust at lower speeds which is what I want (as over 3k revs in this you're already flying)

managed my first crackle and pop.. mine is a 2019 R. got it on D1 high rev and quick slow down.. and there it was. best sound ever. but i am told its probably not good for the car?

Not good for the cats if you do it to excess, I think. Occasional use is very addictive, though!
