hi folks, just found this forum, new to the f type scene but not to the jaguar mark, this is my 8th jag over 30 years, just love jags, been fortunate in the past to have some lovely cars from a series 3 xj6 sovereign, to a 2010 xkr, started to look around for an f type convertible towards the end of 2017 wanted a choice of 2 grey colours, v6s, ivory leather and silver tornado alloys, however I hadn`t realised that the latter 2 were very costly options at 5k for the 2, (the xkr was loaded with options as standard) however finally found what I wanted , a 4 month old demonstrator with 2000 miles on it with £10k worth of extras , can`t see me selling this one for a long time :D

Hi Jagman4666 - welcome and thanks for the photo - she's a beauty - my previous car was ammonite grey so I'm a little biased when i say i reckon its a fantastic colour - it really suits the car

Interesting that you chose the Tornados to go with the Ammonite.
I was torn between Ammonite, Storm Grey and Italian Racing Red. Then the choice of Rims was overwhelming.
So I had a Factory Tour and tried to see as many variations as I could.
So it was Ammonite and Tornados in the end, like yours. Only your car is missing this bit :)

Very nice!

I always used to think of grey as not a colour, but I'm a total convert now.

Do think it really suits the F-Type too.

thanks guys, I was also interested in satellite grey but they seem to be harder to find, when I asked about lunar grey as on my xkr, the dealer said it was being discontinued ? however I still see it as a colour choice on new build sheets ,I do wonder sometimes if sales people know what they are on about

Hi all

So had a ftype convertible 3.o v6 then a v8s firesand then a v6s in grey and have just bought a 2014 v8s with 3000 miles on clock

Had a crazy last year having 8 different cars(mid car crisis lol)Boxster s,bmw i8 Audi R8 x2

But have come back to the f type

Has anyone tried a svr over a v8s

Is it worth the extra 30-40 k?

Hi All, New member with a 2018 F Type R, has any one managed to get the wifi sim card in centre console to work?

Hi and welcome but you really ought to start a new thread, introducing yourself and your problem 😁

Not tried a V8s, but did an extended test drive (4 days) with the R AWD before finally making a decision, the SVR is definitely the more focused and pointier of the two...
