New facelift model

I looked around a 400 in the dealership and apart from a bit of tweeking here and there its not radically much different. STILL AN AWESOME CAR THAT YOU WILL ENJOY

I've not seen a 400 in the metal, only a dynamic ... what I dont get is why you need encouragement ... You are getting a BRAND NEW F-TYPE in a few weeks time. Youre away on business so clearly work hard, just look forward to playing hard when you get back ... us mere standard owners have to mod and dress up to look individual ... yours is individual from day 1!!

Add to this you're going to be one of the very first on the road please try and join the brekkie meet at Gaydon so that we can all see how special your new F-Type 400 Sport is in the metal ...

Health to enjoy!

Thanks for the comments - feeling better already

Interesting comments on the facelift. Personally I don't really see the refresh at the front as a positive or negative. They could have ruined it if they had messed about too much. Thankfully they didn't. I do quite like the new lights though. The main reason I would "upgrade" would be to get the extra legroom because at 6'2" the legroom is "marginal" on the current car. I may pop into the main stealers at Newcastle and have a sit to see the difference.

On a lighter note - That storage hatch between the seats is really useful.... Where else could I park my beanie???

I'm glad the storage pocket is still there, there isn't a huge amount of storage space for the loose stuff in the cabin.

I bet you can - i'd suggest a scrap yard would have that for very little tbh.

I got a look at the new 400 sport in the
local dealers while I was booking in for a service. Have to say, I was
rather underwelmed....

I pick up mine quite soon................hope you are in the minority!

Chammers,

As
basher said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that was just my
personal opinion. I wouldn't get too caught up in what others think.
Like many of the guys have said on here, the 400 sport is still an
F-Type and looks badass, I personally just am not a fan of plastic parts
and would rather see them body coloured... if they were I would say it
was a cracking looking car. And those seats with the yellow contrast
stitching

You'll absolutely love it when you get it, all of us have.

So I really like this pull down compartment ... but don't have it ... like the beanie photo above from big bri, this deep top tray is all I have .... is the pull down part of some options pack or model specific?

Having pulled my current plastic trim it simply pops off, suggesting an easy upgrade if the part is available ....

Senninha,

I believe the difference in compartments is between the Cab and the Coupe. I have the same as you with the open top cubby hole.
Thanx benji-m,

Having looked behind the panel in my coupe there would appear to be the space to fit the 'owl' option ... will investigate via the dealer and let all know ...

I find it a useful storage area, Owl or no owl - as far as I know it's only on the cab, but not sure exactly why the difference

I have the 'owls nest option'....It's a pretty useful feature.

I'm currently looking to buy an owl to go in it, but for now, it's a hoot

Mines a cab and i dont have it.....

hmmm. Is it part of some pack then? Do you have something else in lieu?

That net was on old cars too - its some option to get the high compartment. My 2014 car has the net.....

Mine has the deep recess, so presumably the first owner ticked another option ... its currently home to one of my daughters teddy's ... she says its there to keep an eye on Daddy and is a good luck charm to keep me safe ...

On MY2016 The net is.present on the convertibles and the high storage on the coupé. I have the coupé and would have liked both !

Don't spend time worrying about cubby holes, Let's just hope that JLR has addressed some of the reliability and quality issues with 2018MY that have dogged this lovely car since it's release . I Can then place an order for one with some confidence that I won't have to reject it and Hopefully we won't have to visit the dealers every few miles anymore and can just Enjoy driving it.

Yes, there has been rhe odd ones with some major problems, but the huge majority has been problem free or just a few minor flaws that has easilly been sorted (under warranty).

I think the risk for any major problems with the F-type is equal to or less than any comperable sportscar.
