New f type French member.

Hi, I have an 2015 V6 S F Type and happy with…until 2 weeks ago….
my roof was stuck in the middle and need manually help to close, the same to open.
So I immediately went to the next Jaguar dealer and after 2 days he call me with some very painful news.

The roof open a little like 2 inches and then is blocked. The mecanic think that it is a failure into the mechanism that cause the death of the motor. The left motor is in default and need to be change.

He also said than even if he disconnect the motors, he cannot operate the roof manually so something block the mechanism. But the big problème is that as he can’t open the roof to have access to the motor and/or the mechanism, he will have no other solution than to destroy the roof to remove it and then replace by a complete new one and the cost is 19200€…

Any advice would be really appreciate !

We don't have much luck with main jaguar dealers around here, Best find a local mechanic who knows what they're doing.

La vache, that's basically new engine money! If the roof is closed and you can drive the car, perhaps try to get a second opinion from another dealer? Haven't heard about this kind of problem before. I also suggest to take a look over at the American Jaguar forum where someone maybe is familiar with this.

At least inspect your car again, I wonder if it has already been further damaged by them?
