New design pack purchase

Hello all

I’m currently keeping my eyes peeled on autotrader/used approved to get a second-hand V6s F-Type. Originally I was looking to get one of the older coupes at around £35k, but have freed up some more money and can now stretch to £50k-ish if needed.

The one option that I really like is the side-skirts that you get on either the Design Pack, or comes as standard on the Rs. I’ve seen that you can buy the design pack as an add-on (http://gear.jaguar.com/gb/en/f-type/exterior/exterior-styling/t2r17102lml-sport-design-pack-exterior-non-pdc-pre-18my/#tertiary-tabs) , but at £2675 plus painting cost, it’s not cheap! Has anyone had experience of getting this done after purchase?

I don’t like to travel sideways too much, so don’t feel confident enough to just get the R which would obviously solve my problem.

I’ve currently got a Porsche 987 Boxster, and whilst I love top-down driving on summer evenings, the additional noise with the top up can be annoying, plus I think the styling of the F-Type Coupe really steals it over the convertible, I love the long sweep of the roof.

Other options I’m looking for are;

Panoramic sun roof
Reversing camera + front parking aid
Heated seats
Ignis Paddle Shift
Blacked window trim

Colourwise I’m most drawn to the Blue, have looked at a couple of the British Racing Editions, but they really are at the top of my budget, so may have to go for grey instead.

So now it’s just a matter of keeping an eye out for what’s available, and hoping something suitable and in budget turns up! Wish me luck.

Good luck with your search, I also came to the same conclusion regarding coupe over convertible.
Try & get one with the heated wheel. A major bonus in Winter ;)

I won’t comment on convertible vs coupe as there’s no right answer. Convertible is just more right :)

It’s pretty easy to source parts from dealers or auction sites and recreate the same or better than Designer Pack

I’ve fitted 400 series skirts which are way better than V8, SVR front and about to add designer rear. Some DIY, but the whole lot well less than your base parts price...

With that money available, I'd settle for an early R convertible. Sure the coupé looks sexier, but the vert has the panoramic no roof plus the sound.

I'd be inclined to wrap the car a shade of blue of your choice.

As for travelling sideways, don't believe everything on the internet, just be prepared to buy some Kevlar underwear 😋

Just had a read through your thread, very nice! Where did you end up sourcing your sills from?
