MY18 SVR first issues...

Had my SVR with 3000km's on it in the shop last week. Metallic scraping noise while turning left and the driver's seat right side bolster has come loose at the back.

The mechanic said a bolt holding one of the brake shields had loosened and was gouging the disc causing the scraping noise and the seat leather at the back of the bolster is just a press fit into a channel in the frame and it'll probably happen again.

I'm pretty sure I felt the leather pop out a couple of weeks ago during hard acceleration up a (very) steep hill so I guess the new lightweight seats might flex a bit under load.

Hopefully it's just a few teething problems as I kind of like this car (after never feeling quite at home in a V6-S)

Having driven one at the weekend I kinda like the car too :D

Hopefully they are just a couple of minor niggles and you'll be having lots of fun with it.

It's very much hit and miss with JLR car quality I'm afraid.

Observing over three years worth of posts regarding F-Types, you either get a good one or a 🍋 unfortunately.

I had possibly the first Customer delivered MY18 SVR in the UK and now 9000 miles in only had one minor issue, very slight oil leak which turned out to be a diff casing seal, they came and collected the car and bought it back the next day, faultless since apart from a nail through a 500 mile old tyre, but I can't really blame that on Jag!
